Your first solo is a memorable training milestone: flying without your instructor beside you for the first time. It happens when you meet the applicable requirements and your instructor is satisfied that you can manage the flight safely.
Readiness matters more than a target date
Students progress at different rates. Your instructor assesses handling, checks, radio work, judgement and your response to abnormal situations. They also confirm the authorisations, medical requirements and suitable conditions for the planned flight.
Prepare on the ground
Aerodynamics, aircraft systems, radio procedures and human factors help you understand the tasks you practise. Review the briefing and ask your instructor about anything unclear. Your first solo is commonly a local circuit exercise, but the exact plan is your instructor’s decision.
Online theory supports preparation; it does not authorise solo flight. Build your aviation knowledge alongside instruction at your flight school.
