Flight Radio helps you communicate clearly and understand what other pilots and air traffic services are telling you. It combines equipment knowledge, listening skills and standard procedures.
Equipment, phraseology and confidence
Learn radio controls, frequency selection, standard calls, readbacks and communication procedures. Study the principles behind emergency and lost-communication procedures, then practise the applicable Australian phraseology and local operations with your instructor.
Why we teach it separately
Radio communication is part of a pilot’s essential knowledge. Our eight-subject program gives it a standalone subject so students can build confidence without treating it as an afterthought. This course structure does not imply a separate Australian PPL subject examination or confer operational radio privileges by itself.
